I totally agree with the person posting his/her comment on June 6, 2020. Telstra knows the scammer's phone number, why can't they do something or simply close that account!

Wanted info on how old if I had illness, was I married, did I work. No personal details.
Give them false info if you don't trust them they new my address and last name so using phone book for calls. Wanted to know if some healthy info would help, I referred them to the wealth of knowledge on the internet. Who needs an extra leg?

Overseas scammer "Australian Health and Wellness Forum" using a spoofed (fake) number from the Philippines. Diverted to the scammer answering machine.

Why doesn't TELSTRA block these scammers?

A male Indian caller at 2.30pm on Friday 17th July. Hung up immediately as I knew it would be a scam. Annoyed it comes up as a local number.

Calling a couple of times a day and never leave a message. (I let all calls go to the answering machine and ring back if a message needs a response).
How do you block/complain as the number is not an active service, very annoying.

Telstra (or any telco for that matter) cannot do anything about it as the calls originate from a VOIP system and they use software to spoof the caller ID.

Missed call, figured it would be a scam, so didn’t bother calling them back.

Nuisance caller. Hangs up to answering machine. Persistent and annoying.

Call went to answering machine but no message left. This is what happens when you send your call centres over to scammer central in India.

I've been receiving calls from this number at least twice a day for the last two weeks. They are persistent. Thanks to caller id I don't pick up.
