A lady called and said something with a heavy accent and then passed the call to another man. He asked me for a bank account details for 50% phone discount, and said that I talked with him 2 days ago. So I told him “okay, I know what’s going on here” and hung up immediately. Then they used a different number to call me again but I didn’t answer it.

I was contacted and told I’d been “randomly selected” from their database to receive a free phone. The phone was supposedly contract-free, but it was a brand I’d never even heard of. Then they said I had to make a “one-time payment” of $399 to “secure” it. That’s when the red flags went up. If something is truly free, you don’t have to pay to get it. On top of that, they’re most likely using ghost numbers, number spoofing, or emulation devices to make it look like they’re calling from reputable companies or even from trusted countries. It’s all part of the scam. Never give your personal, bank, or card details to people you don’t know or trust. Scammers rely on pressure, fake offers, and fake caller IDs to trick people into handing over their money.

Offered me a mobile phone for an ‘Unbelievably low price’. When I googled the model while they were on the phone it showed the phone being offered was five years old and the price they were offering was its price five years ago.

Same as everyone else here, heavy accent. I have enabled an option in the new iOS where if I don’t have th number in my contacts they have to verbally state their name and the reason for the call, then the phone sends it through as a message before it connects. When this happened she said “on my god, this is f***ed” sounds like she hasn’t had that before and it took her by surprise. She hung up straight away, activate this feature in your phone settings if you haven’t already. Absolutely a scam number 100%

Caller: Heavily accented woman Stated based in Sydney when pushed but stated look at your screen, new company she stated, with phone deals but wouldn’t fully identify which company and told me just to listen and let her talk. 08 not nsw prefix, highly suspect, being on no call list means nothing apparently.
