I have access to line information.The number (08) 8462 6444 is an Optus number, registered with SingTel Optus.Legit.

I got 3 calls from this number today, one in the morning, at lunch and in the afternoon, they didn't leave a voice mail and when I answered the last call they hung up.

I answered this call, but did feel somewhat uncomfortable confirming my Optus account details with this person, hence why I checked here. I just signed up with Optus a few weeks ago, and I think this is just them checking you are happy with the service and understand the obligations of your contract.Interestingly, at the end of the conversation, she asks you "Before our conversation today, what would you rate Optus out of 10", and then asks what you would rate Optus after this conversation. I'm guessing most people here would rate Optus substantially lower after this call.

This number has been calling me for weeks, everyday. It only ever last for two rings. Not sure if I have ever been quick enough to answer as I always just get a dial tone.

In the past I did get a dodgy call from optus trying to get me to upgrade, but I was not helpful at all. Asked questions like .... do you often go over your plan? do you surf the net with your phone? do you ever surf the net. I answered no for every question, then when they couldn't get anywhere the girl said wait can you hold the line I need to get my manager and I flatly said "No" then hung-up ....DODGY!

Ive heard that these number don't leave a voicemail message so you will call them back, and by calling them back you are 'subscribing' to whatever the hell it is they are selling or doing. However, if you call the Adelaide number from a home phone the auto-subscription won't work, I really want to give them a piece of my mind, constant phone calls! BE CAREFUL! AND CHECK YOUR NEXT BILL IF YOU HAVE CALLED IT BACK!
