Calling our office number, (answered), silence then call disconnects (thankfully we are having issues with phone lines - however receiving these calls daily. 100% spammer

Yet another annoying unwanted call from overseas. I keep blocking the numbers but they just call from new ones.

Australia is amongst the top countries targeted by telemarketers (legitimate and schemers) due to the fact that we are “too polite” to hung up on someones face.
There’s currently no legal way to stop this. The only way is for us to mobilize ourselves and work together.
If you receive a call from an unknown number and someone start with the usual nonsense chat such as: may i speak to the owner of the business” or “who am i speaking to?” Just hang up.
My point being, the second you realise it’s not a legitimate caller, don’t be polite. Just hang up. Remember the caller was the rude one in the first place.
The more Australians do that, the least of this calls we will get.
I, for instance, can afford not to answer calls from unknown numbers as i know it wont affect my business - legitimate callers always, i mean always leave a message. I this is not the case for everyone but please do your bit and just hang up. No sorry, no excuses.
Cheers
Marco

Multiple calls ignored, some international scam using Aussie numbers to rip good aussie folk off from their hard earned dollars. Typically our do nothing governments doing nothing about these low life's spammers.

This is disguised as an Adelaide number but of course it isn't one. After a sizeable pause, an indian guy starts rambling on about the fact that I have an ad in yellow pages & a website (Hint: I already know these things!) Wanted to speak to the business owner, told him I haven't got time for this nonsense so what did he want. He apologised for wasting my time, then said he was from a web design company. Told him I'm not interested & then said goodbye. Should have told him to make his mother proud of him & get a decent job!

Caller: Foreigner sounded Indian

Silence, Then hangs up.
Next time speaks, but hangs up.
3rd time on a different occasion, I refused the call.
Seems to be spam or maybe Scammers. Have had them call a few months back, supposedly advertising for companies?? Best not to answer!

Indian guy asked to speak to the business owner followed with multiple questions which I didn't answer. After me asking 3 times what the call was about, he said it was regarding marketing the business and persisted with more questions. I then hung up. This is not the first call either. Massive pain in the arse!!

Called. Did not leave a voicemail. Probably a spoofed number, i.e. spammer/scammer.

Asked to speak to the business owner about advertising. I asked them for their (real) phone number. She said that she was not authorised to give their contact details to me. So I said that I was unable to allow her to speak to the business owner unless she could provide their proper details. Hung up on me!
