Cold caller pretending to have a mistaken number only to offer me a free hearing test - I'm 25 with perfect hearing... Sent their number to go straight to voice-mail. I'd suggest people who don't want to get these calls to do the same to this number. Maybe even getting a number blocker for your phone :)

This is Hearing Life - audio clinic head office in Adelaide. I'm a client and they keep annoying me offering me more hearing checks with a chance to upgrade my hearing aid. I keep telling them I'm happy with the one I have and to stop annoying me. Maybe THEY need their hearing checked, because they don't bloody listen!

I enquired about a hearing test, hoping they would email as I have anxiety. They've called 3 times a day since. One even starting at 9:04

With all these calls why doesn't Telstra block this number? Also the agency operating the "Do Not Call" program. Surely with a string of complaints about this number they both have enough evidence that calls from (08) 8179 3180.are unwanted and a pest. . I raised this matter with the former Telstra Chairman Mr Thoday about two years ago, but Telstra seems unwilling or incapable of acting against the operators of this number. But then, I guess, Telstra is making money from them with all these (unwanted) calls (plus the mugs who actually call back to (08) 8179 3180).

Go for 1 hearing test and I'm bombarded with calls - come back for another test - buy buy buy ..... no no no no - please go away. Don't supply a phone number if you go to these people - they just hound you for ever and a day afterwards....

The trick is to give a fake phone number. That's what you do with car dealers, Iselect, compare the pare, anybody else who you don't want to ring you back. Just give the correct email if you don't want to talk to them.

I bought a Telstra Call Blocker phone and since then I don't receive any of these sort of calls. The phone asks the caller to identify themselves and if they don't it blocks them. The best thing I ever bought. I don't work for Telstra by the way but I'm just someone who got so annoyed by these sort of calls they drove me nuts.

Caller: Hearing life Called asking for a ‘Louise’.. I’m not Louise, they then proceed with ‘well while we have you on the phone etc’ What a dirty, cold call tactic. I explained politely that I get free hearing tests annually through my employment but they have continued to call daily. I’ve now blocked the number.

I now find that (08) 8179 3180 & (02) 6231 7919 have appeared on my telephone account as reverse charges. Any suggestions please!

Calls started the same day as a letter arrived in a Medibank Private envelope which offered a free hearing test by an audio company in Brisbane. We are health fund customers so our details have probably been provided (sold?) by Medibank Private. Five calls to the landline in three days, two to my mobile. I do not pick up. Thank you to others who have posted.

Rings at least twice a day and never leaves a voice message. I've noted the number in my contacts as - hearing scam - do not answer.

If this in anyway associated with Medibank I wonder if they realise the damage to their brand these annoying calls cause.
