scam call pretending to be Bank SA.

Caller: Claims to be Bank SA

I have received multiple calls from this number, every couple of months, in a pattern of 3 calls per day for approximately 3-5 business days in a row.

I have blocked the number but they still call and I get the Text Message advising the number tried to call me.

If you answer the call, it is an automated message stating "This is Bank SA with an urgent message for YOUR NAME". With further information included after this.

However, I hung up at this point and called Bank SA directly via their normal business number and spoke to a representative who advised me this is NOT one of their known/listed/legitimate telephone numbers and to report it to St George's Bank (their parent company) fraud reports and I have also reported it to Scamwatch; however the calls still continue 6 months later.

If you're experiencing calls from this number like these, I'd encourage you to report to Scamwatch and Advise St George's Bank, especially if you do not have any business or ongoing business with Bank SA (like I do) so that hopefully one day these will stop.

I called back the number (08) 8166 6401 and reached vm that said I reached BankSA

When I called this number back, the automated answer said it was Bank SA and wanted me to give personal details, at which point I hung up and called Bank SA direct and they confirmed this is not them. Same as above, I was receiving 3 calls per day for 5 days straight. Bank SA advised that they are not permitted to call that relentlessly. If you get a call from this number, block it and call the bank direct. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY DETAILS!

Scam call for Bank SA - called twice from the same number, calls were 4 hours apart from each other. Blocked the number.
