Caller: Sounded like an Indian call centre Said that were ACR (Australian communications register) offering "Do not call" and 25% discount off phone bills for retired and pensioners. I went along with it until they wanted to confirm my credit card details. Absolutely a SCAM.

Caller: Female That's helpful to know Julz. My elderly parent had a call today (but I answered the phone) and the lady on the other end said she was from the Australian Communications and Media Authority and did we want to have the number added to the Do Not Call Register. I didn't give the person enough time to finish her spiel, because I was quite sure it was a scam call. I said I would call ACMA to verify and she gave me the number (08) 8121 4140 and said it was the help desk. After looking at the genuine ACMA website, I have no doubt this was a scam call.
