I called the Australian support number and got put through to, wait for it, "Brad Pit". He told me I needed the renewal because the Internet is unsafe etc. etc. I told him my name was Batman and he should stop trying to scam people. Total scam!!!

ATO scammer and very abusive when I chose not to identify myself.

Received a call on August 9 and answered it. It’s an obvious ATO scam asking for credit card details. I kept him on the line a while to annoy him, he became more aggressive as he realised I wasn’t buying it so I called him a scammer and hung up. Then had another call from the same number today.

Pretending they are from the ATO and you have a tax refund - and get rude when you say i don't think so and you are not handing over your bank details.

Caller: ATO - called Employer ID 431972 Name ****tom (couldn't understand pronunciation)

Called identified as being from ATO. I suspected scam. Caller said I had a refund from 2014 - 2017 and wanted to know what account would I prefer money to be transferred to Mastercard or Visa. I said I would ring ATO to confirm this is legit (knowing it wasn't). Caller said he would call me back later. Caller was actually not rude (for a change). He hung up though.

said he had a tax return of $ 400 and ask for my bank details when I told him I hadn't done my tax and told him to stop wasting my time he became verbally abusive

CALLER- became quite rude and very pushy when I said I needed to terminate the call
