Caller: Passport Office

it was from passport office, and confirmed the correction that i was expecting them to reachout to me for. so.

They called but didn't leave a message . I have blocked it.

Can confirm that this is indeed from the passport office, however call them back on the official number they provide on email. Missed a call from this number to be followed up by an email stating an official number for call back soon after. The email is authentic which can be verified as it comes from the official dfat.gov.au domain, it would also contain your application number

It’s scam. They send a message saying they will call and do not reply. They call but, do not answer. If you call back, It says it’s from the passport office, they play a recorded waiting message, similar to the real one. When they answer, they ask many questions and at the end there’s no any outcome. They ask if there’s any travel planned soon, then I’m guessing it’s purpose it’s to get bank account details to charge you for the extra a fee for shorter processing times. If the person answers there’s no urgency, they stop there.

Called me to confirm some information on my passport, I received a text before the call quoting the correct application number. No shady requests for money or much sensitive info besides name, DOB and mother's maiden name. At the end they asked me if the passport still needed to be posted to my address in my home suburb, mentioning the correct suburb. It's highly unlikely that this is a spam number but reading these other reports it's upsetting to see the passport office exhibit a behaviour that supports that suspicion at times.

Mel from passports, very vague call, didn’t know my name and when I said this seemed suspicious she said she would email me. No email. Highly suspicious

Caller: I think he said his name was Matthew from the Passport Office

He wanted to ask me a few questions, but I said I don't know who you are and if you are who you say you are from. So he said he completely understands and gave me the phone to call, which I knew already. Since seeing that this phone number is up here as spam...it most probably is. Shame on these people who are not honest and decent.

Called, hung up after 3-4 rings only, didn't leave msg.
