Caller: Claimed to be from Telstra Technical Department

Tried to get me to give them access due to internet issues. Eventually hung up.

Caller: "Kane"

Received a call for a guy identifying as Kane from Telstra. Claimed I was to received a 6 month "Trauma discount" of 50% off my bill. I asked him was his staff ID (as I have worked at Telstra before) and he provided a staff ID that would have been issued about 12 years ago, and they don't re-issue them. Definitely a fraud.

Now calling themselves, on their ‘on hold’ message, Diamond Plaza.

Caller: Claims to be Telstra billing department

Claims to be Telstra billing, and called again and again using multiple numbers from different state: (08) 6388 0917, (07) 4225 3216, (08) 7320 8821. Same person each time

Called my elderly mother and convinced her to install AnyDesk on her phone and PC then tried to access her bank accounts. When attempts failed, tried to talk her into going to a supermarket to buy gift cards. Mum realised something suspicious was going on and refused. At this point the person at the other end became abusive. 100% textbook scam - thankfully they came out of it empty handed.

My phone flagged this number as a fraudulent call. Blocked

Called and offered a 50% discount. Asked him to verify what part of my plan I am getting a discount from and he couldn’t tell me. Kept saying that he was calling from ‘The Telstra’. Dodgy

Answered and heard them talking in another language until they realised I had answered. Apparently from Telstra- I don’t have any Telstra accounts. Looked up the number here and surprise surprise! We have a scammer!!

Missed call to our unlisted mobile from this number a 5.41pm 12 January 2024. We're in Newcastle area NSW.
Less than one minute later missed call from (07) 4222 0753
Based on info on this site suspect both are scams.

They said I had bought a article on eBay and my account is comprised and I should open a app called eBay desktop it is a scam be warned

Obviously this number is a spam call it comes up as Spam
My phone filters these calls out luckily but then you can block and report that number

Scammer trying to offer me 6 months discounts on my Telstra mobile number.. just had to get me to verify my email address and probably other personal/financial details. They hung up when I refused to “verify” my details and when I called them a scammer after telling them I don’t have a Telstra mobile

Said they were Telstra offering me 50% off my bill when I told them I’m not with Telstra they hung up

Caller: "Telstra" regarding my account. Hung up when told I was not with Telstra

Just hang up. Potential fraud.

Caller: Scam

Claimed to be from Telstra Billing department. Hung up on them. The phone number appears to be using the Optus network so highly likely spoofed number

I just a call from this number and they said they were calling from Telstra Plus and were authorised to offer me a 50% discount but that there was a problem with Telstra recognising my email account so could I please read them the verification number that was just texted to me. They were obviously trying to hack into my Microsoft email account. They were quite clever. Beware! Thy hung up when I asked them to direct me tot he Telstra webpage with details of the offer.
