These people have rung my mum a number of times saying they are "Windows Support" and there is something wrong with her computer and they wanted to arrange for "remote access" to it using www.support.me (not their website) I did a complete AV (PCTools) scan of their computer, and nothing was wrong.

Dear Homie, I totally agree. I'm real sick of these mongrels and am frustrated as to what to do about them. I really want them caught but have no idea how to set them up! My husband and I have been out of the country for the last few months and left the care of our home in the hands of our awesome, but still quite naive 18 year old son. Unfortunately First PC Solutions were convincing enough for our son to believe them and allow them access to his computer, plus give them too much personal info as well as his debit/credit card. The cunning mongrels have already taken approx $500 USD from his account! He still had no idea this was a scam until I happened to ask whether he got any dodgy calls while we were away from any outfit saying there was a problem with his PC. I explained that the week before we went away we had 4 or 5 cold calls from either an Idian guy or sometimes a woman, to which I told them to buggar off, after having a bit of fun winding them up of course! When I said this my poor son just broke down in tears and told us what had happened. We immediately set about helping him by guidin him through cancelling his bank card, and also changing all his online passwords, but using my computer to do so. I have a local IT specialist friend who is going to reformat my sons PC and also get rid of any spy or malware that may exist. His bank have been awesome and say that he might be able to retrieve his lost money. They can't promise that will happen, but even if it doesn't a very expensive lesson has been learnt....beleve it or not these losers are still ringing! Couldn't believe it but just yesterday there was a message on our answer phone asking our son to ring (the same Auckland number) to disguss with their "registered technical support" person if the computer is still running slow. I so badly want them caught and dealt to!!! Anyone got any ideas???

I had a call last night , I had just collected my computer from Norman Ross in christchurch where I purchased computer, had had bad service from them (another story) as I arrived home & connected up my computer my husband answered our phone (as I am the computer person in our household) he passed it over to me an indian man - I thought he was from norman ross ringing to help with my computer problems (had been dealing with 2 indian employee's at norman ross) after 1.5 hours sorting my computer they asked for payment - I did have a feeling at this time but was incredibly stressed and flustered(also had small children wanting dinner) & thought it would fix my computer! gave credit card details & paid $77.00 for 6 months (I know silly). This morning I did some checking also saw your story, they had tried too charge $1000.00 for accommodation- dont know where, but had exceed card limit so thankfully didnt go through. I also tried calling the same auckland number as you that I was given, obviously no connection - a complete scam & I feel incredibly silly for getting caught up in it. Have now upgraded my antivirus system & changed passwords

I just got a call from First PC Solution. I stayed on the line too long and still do not understand their
reason for calling me. I did not agree to purchase their program. After reading all of these reports I am glad I did not buy at this time. A person from India kept me on the phone for over a hour. At this time I feel that I provided him with too much information. I hope I do not have any problems with my computer after the phone call. I will wait and decide if I should call them later.

An Indian sounding lady just called me and put me on to A DAVID MARTIN who was insistent that I turn on my computer and that I had malicious virus's.Told me he was from 1st PC solutions.I got his number and said I would ring back Number is 09 8890239. Felt this was a scam so Googled the number and got this forum.

An Indian guy, very persistent, saying my computer had reported error messages to Microsoft. He would guide me thru how to fix it. What BS. Kept him talking for about 10-12 minutes - wasted his time and hope it cost him money too. Gave me the Adelaide number (08) 7200 0407 but didn't try it. Also the website www.virtualITsupport.com but not game to try it either. A complete scam.

Same as above - Only when I rung back he asked me if I had a computer at home. He said okay then bye when I said I didn't. His name change from David Martin to Steve Jones when I rung him.
