Caller: They said they are Telstra Technic team

Got a call from them. An Indian accent women called me said they are from Telstra. They found people from overseas are using my WiFi to do online shopping and some illegal web surfing. Then another senior technique team member is trying to ask me to download a remote access application for my computer. Already checked with my web company. They are frauds. Don’t listen to them to download any remote access application for your device

Were going to help me with my "non existent" issue. Bad accent, clearly a VoIP poor quality call and I said thanks, not interested in this scam.

Didn’t answer or return call assuming it is a scam. Too often get these calls from a Darwin number.

The say they are calling Telstra and that someone is using my IP Address for illegal things. They almost had me for a second until I said that it sounds like a spam call and then they immediately hung up.

When I get any number I don't recognise, I usually let it ring out to see if I get a voicemail - if not I block the number straight away.
Another suggestion is, your phone rings but you are unsure of the number, make the connection but do not speak at all... within at least 5 seconds of silence at your end, you will hear the scam "caller" will click off. This will confirm it was a scam call. You can then block the number.

This caller also went to my 'non-existent real phone line' and I've taken off any Phone Messages so they don't know if they got through successfully or not.
I've now blocked them anyway.

Upon answering it played an automated message (with a professional sounding recording) claiming to be from Visa / Mastercard regarding a charge on my credit card.

They hung up when I answered, and looking at the other comments from the same number I can see that it's an attempted scam so I have blocked it.
I have had several other mystery calls this week that I am not able to block.

Didn’t pick up as don’t know the number or anyone in Adelaide. Assumed it was a scam and they left no message.

Caller: NBN apparently

Indian woman claimed we'd been hacked. Hung up. She called straight back. Hard to understand so I asked for the manager. He told me we'd been hacked and he needed my details or they would cancel our internet. I told him Australians don't deal directly with NBN, only with our service provider and asked him to tell me my name and service provider. Told me the wrong name so I said "wrong" and hung up. Perth number first then Adelaide number, same woman both times.

Caller: Caller said they're from Amazon

Stated something about a $99 gift card being used in UK and appeared fraudulent. In Indian accent. Stated I would report this number and hung up. We have a silent, rarely used landline number which doesn't seem to stop them.
