Caller: National claims hotline

Long silence before he answered, then said he was from National Claims Hotline about my car being in an accident. Funny ... knew it was a scam because the car is registered in my wife’s name

Received a call apparently I’d been in an accident in the last 12 months! News to me! Definitely a scam I thought. Terrible English and pushy when I wouldn’t play along.
I asked ‘ what’s the date of this alleged accident and what vehicle was I in’ heard silence after that!

Caller: (08) 7079 8440 (Adelaide)

Caller: Indian man

Slight variation on the number again but still similar ‭(08) 7079 8402‬. I was in an accident which I wasn’t. Knew it was a scam and told him to get stuffed and told him not to try to and scam people.

Similar number to other nuisance call (08) 7079 8420). Have blocked both.

Female Asian voice caller saying I was involved in a CAR ACCIDENT LAST YEAR.. I immediately knew it was a SCAM, cos I definitely WAS NOT in a car accident last year. She was insistent when I said that, & became stern with me, so I yelled at her she was a liar and a scammer and to F Off!
She still kept insisting, so I hung up!
I received a 2nd call from different number today (2 days later) but with a male voice PETER.

said nothing I hang up next day it rang again same thing nothing I Blocked it

I have had a couple of calls from this number. The last one today had an automated message asking for details about a recent car accident. I have heard of this scam and as I haven’t had an accident I have blocked the number

Rang me stating they represent a group of lawyers, and that I am able to lodge a claim for injury from a car accident that I have had in the last 12 months - I haven't had an accident! When I asked for the date of this accident he refused to give it. I demanded to be removed from whatever database he is getting his information from and that I would be reporting him to the ACCC. I've now blocked this number.

I called back number (08) 7079 8440 reached IVR for National Claim Helpline.

Said nothing I hung up
