Caller: supposedly NBN This was supposedly nbn calling to tell me my internet connection was slow and to run a speed test. The caller couldn't answer when I asked why my service provider hadn't contacted me on this and became ratty when I asked for details on how I could verify her. She gave me a long code which she wanted me to enter into my PC operating system. Highly, highly dodgy. She gave a number to call to verify her 1800 626 636 - to also be avoided!

Caller: scammer pretending to be a NBN provider refer to post by Anonymous Posted on December 21, 2023 Caller type: Scam call Location: Australia. Female called Rose with an accent called several times on our landline saying our NBN needed to be upgraded. She requested that I do a speed test immediately because an NBN technician was waiting for this information. I asked for a call back number to verify she provided 18006266361 which is not available or not available from a mobile phone (I was calling from a landline). I asked for a ref for call - she did not provide this. I checked with our service provider and they said our NBN service was OK. Apparently 1800 626 636 has some connection to the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and attractions in WA or gov library in WA or WA legislative assembly!!!!!!!!!! Can I have a job in investigating scammers - I would love to sink my teeth into them.

Someone called from this number but when I answered the call, immediately hung up, so I have queried this number. Sounds very dodgy and not to be trusted.

No message left. I did have a call last week from a woman claiming to be from the Commonwealth Bank telling me that my account was being overdrawn and giving instructions. Wouldn't let me speak. When I managed to interrupt her and ask for her name and number so that I could call her back to verify she hung up.
