My phone showed the number as a scam.

Caller: Scam

Claimed to be from PayPal about an issue with my PayPal account. I knew it was a scam straight away because I do not have a PayPal account. She was having trouble reading her script, or perhaps she had pains of guilt, because she ending the call mid sentence despite me playing along. When possible I like to stay on the line as long as I can with these people to waste their time. More time on the phone not succeeding with me, means fewer phone calls made to venerable people who may be manipulated by their lies.

Answered phone and they hung up. Likely 'dodgy'!

Caller: (07) 3073 1461

recorded message saying it was ANZ and a suspicious transaction had been blocked and to follow the numbers to speak to a rep, got through to a rep while looking at the bank transactions and nothing was there and an Indian guy answered, def not ANZ.

Caller: Scam

A man with a very thick accent called from (08) 7094 2426. He claimed to be from Telstra and asked me to verify account details so I could get 50% off for the next 6 months. I said that he'd cold called me and I wasn't going to give him details over the phone and, if this was/is a legit Telstra offer, to please email me at the address on file. He became pushy and tried to stop me hanging up a couple of times, at one stage saying that if I didn't want to give him my details he could transfer the call to his supervisor (which really didn't solve the problem of me not being agreeable to giving details over the phone). I think this was a scam call.
Got call shortly afterwards from (08) 6383 6711 that related to the above call (Jay, another accent. allegedly a Telstra supervisor). I hung up.

An Indian accent male attempted to scare me re a security alert of an overseas suspicious transaction of $1000.
Scam…

I answered... click click click.. like it was being put through, Indian accented male,' hello'. I usually hang up if there is a delay . seems like its programmed to ring random numbers and anyone that answers then gets connected. I pay for my line to use for my business.. NOT this rubbish! The majority of calls in the day are from these scammers - time and energy wasters!
