I called back number (08) 6352 0954 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

Scam involving gas. Person knew my name and gas provider

Said he was calling in regards to my gas bill.

Called the number back and it says "the number you called is disconnected. Must be some scammer

Same experience as others - the phone rings, and as soon as you answer, the call is disconnected. I've blocked the number on my mobile, but somehow the call still manages to get through.

Person knew my name, what gas company I was with and the amount of my last bill but I hung up on them when I challenged them as the genuine article and they failed to verify themselves as my gas company correctly.

It's another of those automated calls, I hung up on the person before they speak and have blocked the number. My guess, either Gas/Energy sales person or car accident scam.
