Caller: Pre-recorded female claiming to be ANZ bank

Had a female voice claim that there had been a transaction request on my ANZ account to withdraw $1000.00, Press (1) to deny and press (2) to authorize. As I have only just got this phone and number it was obviously a scam.

Caller: PayPal

Answered call, there was no noise for a few seconds. Then a man came on, used my actual name (although I didn’t confirm that was me) and said they were from PayPal. I asked what it was about, he said it was about a transaction of $1800 from my account from “mountain view”, I cut him off mid sentence “you have the wrong person, goodbye” and hung up. I have since checked my PayPal account and no transactions of that amount have been processed. Scam, don’t answer or answer any questions.

Claimed to be from CBA - I knew right away was a scam - he wanted me to authorise money to be paid to my “travel” business. As soon as I said “you’re a scam” he hung up.

Similar to another - got a call from someone purporting to be from PayPal. Had all my details and was saying my account was under surveillance for a suspected charge from 'mountain view'. Wanted me to give them access to my device using a customer support app so they could connect me to their server and sort it out with the bank. I called PayPal and they said they will never call someone - they will only call if it has been a request from a customer. If someone says they're calling from PayPal and you haven't asked for them to contact you - it's a scam.

Man called using my name saying he is from the commonwealth bank and calling about a $1000 suspicious call from my account. Scam call so hung up

Scam call. Asian (Indian maybe) male posing as David from Commonwealth Bank (Perth). Tried to discuss a supposed bitcoin transaction on my account.

Scammers attempting to breach my Amazon account, claiming to be wanting to confirm / reject a purchase of an expensive item (iPhone 15)

Quoted one of my email addresses, knew my name, and sent an OTP (one time password) to my phone to sign in themselves.

The SMS has "don't share it with anyone" written on it.

Claimed to be from "paypal"

Pretending to be ANZ Bank and notifying me of fraudulent transactions on my account. They wanted me to download an App so they could remove the fraudulent IP address from my network. When I pushed back and said to put a freeze on all my accounts, and I will go into a branch in the morning, they escalated me to a leader. This person gave different information about the suspected fraud. When I pushed and asked for them to tell me what location I was logging in from on my banking, they took 2 mins and must have searched historical finance information to dig up an old home address from 20 years ago. They were very convincing, but every time I threatened to hang up and call the ANZ bank directly, they did everything to try and keep me on the line. Used lots of scare tactics. I ended up hanging up on them and calling ANZ directly using their direct number. The ANZ Bank confirmed this was a scam.

Claiming to be from "The Australia Post Ma'am "

Came up as potential fraud - but i get a lot on my work phone. it was a man. I said hello (name) speaking - and he said - "hello, is this (my name)" i said yes - he repeated again, asking if it was (my name), I said yes and asked who it was, he hung up. Tried to call back from work landline and number disconnected. :(

My phone blocked this number and alerted me that it's a scam. Must be due to lots of people reporting it as a scam.

Phone did not record supposed missed caller who did not leave a message. Presumably yet another would-be scammer, given previous comments ... sigh
