Caller: Supposedly PayPal It was a missed call, but a voice mail message was left. It was an automated message from "PayPal" saying that I needed to authorise a $299.99 transaction, press 1 for yes, etc. Certainly was not something I was doing, and it's not the way PayPal operates to the best of my knowledge.

Scam pretending to be from PayPal, left an automated message on my phone claiming that 200 dollars will be taken from my account.

Called back and they answered in a thick accent "Thank you for calling PayPal how can I help you" and then hung up immediately. Seems dodgy.

Called my work mobile. Unknown number and they didn't leave a message so I called back, got a very very bored man with too thick an accent to make out the name he said asking me how he could help me today. A lot of noise in the background, typical scam call centre noises and behaviours.
