Caller: Fake car accident

Asked me that if I had a car accident recently....

(07) 8334 4440, who ever is calling of this number you have a very sad life! for starters if someone close to me passed away in a car accident police would be at my door. secondly do you think im stupid enough to give bank details over the phone?? go f*ck ya self get a life!!

Called and knew hubby's name. Long wait time for answer and strong accent. over seas scammers. Said that someone connected to the number had a car accident recently. Scam obviously as we haven't. Hung up immediately without saying anything. Glad I did after reading these posts. Well done to all those that leave these posts.

I agree. Sick and tired of this number ringing me and hanging up. It happens all the time. When you ring back it does not connect.

I wonder constantly how people like these can obtain someone's mobile number. I've blocked this number and it's a sequence of numbers i've never seen within the 07 area code.

Block this number. Indian accent claiming I've been involved in an accident. Asked him for details of it and he started rambling.... Hang up!

They call asking to verify information about a car accident in the last 12 months. I asked them to remove my name and contact from the list and advised I would be reporting the number. I'm not sure of the purpose of the call exactly but it is NOT legitimate. CAUTION!!

Just like everyone else. Indian guy saying I was involved in a accident. I tried to play along but he didnt want to play :( lmao so he said sorry wrong person. These c**** have your full name even quoted my address too!

Scammer said I had caused an accident and police were looking for me. I have had no accident whatsoever and do not have an insurance claim against me

Said they were calling about a car accident I supposedly had. I asked who they were wanting to speak to and they knew my name. I asked which insurance company they were connected to and they denied any such connection. Sounded like they wanted to help me with a Personal Injury claim. I kept repeating that there was no personal injury and eventually they gave up and politely wished me a good day.

They'll call you by name, do not say "Yes", just say no one b that name here. They'll tell you it's in regards to a vehicle accident, but can't give you any details as to where, when or insurance details.
Purely a scam, just laugh and hang up. Or if you're sly enough, have a little fun at their expense, then hag up and block the number. It's coming from overseas through Redcliffe,Qld

Keeps calling me every week without fail.... i have not picked up their calls but when i block this number they use another number to call... bloody scammers!

caller didn't speak initially and after me saying hello twice, some guy with an extremely thick hard to understand accent says they have a report about someone from my number that had an accident. First thing I thought was scam, and I hung up. I tried calling the number back and received a message saying Optus advises this number is not in use. So I checked this website and see heaps of people received the same dodgy call. - What I want to know "Anybody" is how come their number shows on my screen when they call, but when you try to call it back- you get a message from Optus . saying it's not correct. Doesn't add up??
