On Tuesday 19 March 2024 my sister received on her computer an enormously loud message with a warning alarm. It stated that the message was from Microsoft Security and that a rogue site had penetrated her computer and that she should not turn off the computer and should call the number that appeared on the screen, for help.
I called that number which was answered by a man with an Indian accent purporting to be with Microsoft Security. He walked me through several steps that ceased the alarm coming from the computer and at some stage asked me to insert a security code "230456". The discussion got around to my sister's bank account and security. I did not give any information about her account except to say that she does her banking on the computer and her phone. He asked if she had sent any money to me on line. i told him that she had and he said he also needed to look at my accounts. This is when the penny droped. He asked me to go home and get on my computer and then ring him on the number (07) 5641 2111. I was about to stop here but decided to ring the number ans see what

Caller: ? Grant Harbour

My message is identical to the one posted on March 22nd 2024, regretfully I was caught also and he had accessed my savings account. I did report it to all the banks I have dealings with, he had tried to access another bank but unsuccessfully thank goodness. The name of the scammer where the money was transferred to is Grant Harbour. Not sure if this helps but my bank had been able to find out where he funds ended up and are investigating it. Hopefully they will be able to get my money back.
