just interested if they are getting the numbers from one carrier I am with optus? I have only had this number for 4 months but no other friends seem to get these calls.

Yep - same deal. Call frequency for me has been daily (weekdays only) from the (07) 5555 5100 number - 5x a day would send me batty, so I feel for those who have been harrassed that much.
I called back just now and went straight to an answering service (all too busy apparently... although I doubt it, given the industry they're in). The answering service requests that you leave your details (name and number) in a message if you want to be removed from their call list. I left my details and am now interested to see if that works. I will report back here if it doesn't.

I recieved 4 missed calls by this number in the past 2 days, by typing it on google this site came up! so thanks!=) Ps: tried calling back and it kept saying Australian call center and there hold music would play

Have had numerous calls from this number over the last week or so. I never answer it and they never leave a message. I assume my number is automatically dialled by a computerised system otherwise surely they would get the hint that I don't want to talk to them.
