Colin, they are not volunteers. They are are paid to raise money.

(07) 5512 7800 is RACQ Care Flight number. I had several call from this number and eventually was able to answer one of their calls. I have been told that when the phone rings and there is nobody there is because they put a few phone numbers into their calling base and if they have not finished a call they are on then the numbers they have put in start to dial after a certain time hence when you pick it up no one is there.Hope this helps.

Annoying number keeps calling and hanging up, no message. I screen my calls because of people/organisations like this. Wake up, leave a message or don't call!

Re: (07) 5512 7800 - If you phone 1300 227 335 - you can ask to have your phone number / s removed from the RACQ Careflight calling list.

Keeps calling me, but nobody there when answered.

We have had a call from this number every day this week and some last week as well. No one speaks, just hang up.

Charities are exempt from the DNC register and it clearly states that... They are a community organisation. It can be annoying and inconvenient, but it's a necessary service.

I am on the Do Not Call Register also but when I found out who it was they said they were exempt as they were a charity.

Well I do not calls from charities either. GET LOST!

I am on the DO NOT CALL REGISTER and yet I still get these calls trying to sell something. Shouldn't be happening. Will try to find out who to complain to.

I have been receiving calls from this number for about a week now, and when I answered today I heard what sounded like a helicopter noise. I called the number back and it picked up on the first ring and said in an automated voice "Welcome to RACQ Careflight service" and asked if I wanted to make a donation or speak to someone for more information. I presse 2 and ended up speaking to someone. I asked them to remove my number from the calling list and they apparently did so. Hopefully this works!

They called me and when I answered I got a machine gun like sound. I thought I was getting a death threat until I found this site. Thanks for your comments everyone. I have listed the call as don't answer also.

This number rang me twice today, and it sounded like a helicopter on the line.. then the call dropped out.. have tagged it "Do Not Answer" & Blocked the call

If this is Care-Flight, then I won't be donating again. Very unprofessional. I agree with other comments about running to the phone , only to be hung up on

CAREFLIGHT, RACQ. I RANG THE RACQ about it (am a member) and they knew nothing of it, but would look into it. gave them the number and told them to do a web search. This isnt the only site with complaints about it.

Charitys are under a different rule. They have access to all numbers, silent or not. Unfortunately

Why don't they leave a message. I am sick of running all the way inside to answer a call just to find they have hung up and not even had the decency to leave a message when asked to. If this number is RACQ Careflight they need to understand if this is how they operate to gain donations, they are not going about it in the right way!!!!!!
