Caller: Ebay (Not)
Asking me to press particular buttons to approve/stop payment of $299.99
Of course I didn’t press any of the suggested buttons. Scam!
scam call received a computerised voicemail.
I called the number back and a guy answered claiming to be from EBAy saying that someone was trying to scam me by buying itunes card on ebay. Wanted me to download an app called stop sos
Stay clear of these guys they are very convincing
Exactly the same for me too You missed a call from (07) 5353 6083 who said "$9.99 and the same will be debited from your account automatically if you want to cancel this . Then press one. Your claim for refunding(?)"
I did not answer call as it was an unknown number to me. SCAM
Automated scam call
Caller: Scam - not eBay Claims
Robot voice saying my claim was rejected and an amount would be charged again on a particular day, and to press number on my keypad to discuss with them. I hadn't answered the call and this was a voicemail (so how would I press keys in a voicemail?), and I haven't had any dealings with eBay about claims or refunds.
Just so you know: eBay will always confirm your identity and would never leave a random message like this. Same goes for PayPal. Don't fall for it.
