Man said he was calling from an insurance company and had a report that I had been in a car accident, I said 'nope not me'. He then asked if one of my family members had been in a car accident.

Caller: Fake Car Insurance Company This is confirmed as an Indian Scam. The scammer will attempt to get confirmation you or someone you know have been in an accident within the last few years. If you ask questions before they get your personal details they will hang up as they have no information other than your phone number, usually computer generated. They are trying to steal your money! They are using an untraceable computer generated phone number which is easily obtainable from the internet. Do not give them any information. They will start a data log on you. The phone number is listed as from Bogie Queensland. Bogie has a population of 160 people. Not quite large enough to run a call centre from. They have your phone number, but not your name, address or other personal info. The more you talk, the more persistent they will be to continue the scam. They will become aggressive if they think you will not comply. They scammers will also call you back from one of their many computer generated numbers, referring to the fake claim or a totally new scam, depending on if they think they can garnish more info from you. You can block the scammer phone numbers in you mobile or call your service provider if you are using a landline. DO NOT SAY YOUR NAME or GIVE ANY INFORMATION, JUST HANG UP!!!

Caller: Someone with an Indian accent Claimed to be from a CTP company, calling about my car accident. Suggested I was not at fault, however the other driver was claiming damages because they sustained injuries in the accident. When pressed, did not tell me the name of the CTP insurer he worked for, instead suggesting they work for multiple insurers such as RACQ, NRMA. Wanted to know details of what happened in the accident. I terminated the call. Scam.

Caller: Fake insurance company Called 2 days in a row.
First day was a man, advising he was calling from an insurance company about the accident I had been in that day. Clearly a scam so I said nope and hung up.
Second day was a woman from an insurance company calling in regards to my accident. Told her I had not been in an accident and she hung up.
