Called a business, pretending to be someone from Australia and a charity.

Seems very suss. Even said that my manager isn't here right now and I cannot take your call continued to talk saying won't take long.

phone didn't even ring,missed call just appeared. phone number from cairns. checked number on here saw that many others had received call from cairns. i'm calling scam

Said they were in call centre outside of a Melbourne...caller id showed it as Cairns number

Sounded like a scam, sounded like a real person but acted like a computer asking generic responses eg, asked how I was doing today and when said not well responded with that's great and proceeded to tell me a story...

Charity spruiker. Blocked.

Hung up not long after being answered

Caller: some charity I've never heard of

very bubbly lady. long sales pitch ... looking for $200 - $300 donation for suicide charity. keep calling from different 07 numbers.

If you get what you suspect is a scam call, here are some ploys to try
1. Pick up the phone and say "nay" which means "yes" in Greek. You can follow up with 2. if desired.
2. Pick up the phone and say "arpka narm kya hi" which means "what is your name?" in Hindi. Usually the caller will disconnect. If the caller happens to answer in Hindi, then say "habla usted espaniol" which means "do you speak Spanish?". Almost certainly they will disconnect.
3. If a first question is asked, such as "how are you" or indeed any question, say "the charge for an answer to the question is $100, and rises by $50 for each succeeding question. Please state your credit card details so payment can be transacted before the first answer".

I didnt know the number so not taken up.

Caller sounded familiar and was wishing my family all the best, but I had muted the call. The caller obviously knew that they were unwanted.

Hit the power button, goes to message bank & no message. Now blocked.
