Hangs up as soon as I pickup phone!

Caller: Said they were an Animal Welfare charity

The call said it was coming through from Cairns so I picked it up. It was a woman asking for ‘donations’ to help save cats and dogs from euthanasia. $50 to help one animal, $100 to help two and so on. I questioned her and asked how does it save them? Do you re-home them, etc? She couldn’t answer — said she was new to this and would get her supervisor. Her supervisor was ‘on another call’. She then hounded me to pledge donations which I said I would once I understood how the money was being used, etc. I asked for her to email through me some details about their charity, cause, etc and she promptly hung up on me. Be SO SO careful!! Never give your card details over the phone, always ask for authenticity! Obviously a terrible scam out to take advantage of good people.

I called back number (07) 4241 1306 it says the number I have dialed is not in service anymore.

call requesting $s to save dogs and cats from being put down in animal shelters. sounds very much like a scam as no further info was offered.

Have had several calls from the above number which I didn't answer because I don't answer numbers I don't identify with. So far this week there have been three calls which I haven't answered. I believe they're up to no good.

Said they were an animal charity, saving unwanted cats and dogs. As I have a terminal illness, as well as a 13 yr old cat and two 12 year old dogs, who will need rehoming, they got my attention. I agreed to give a one off $50 donation, so she said she would get her supervisor. I hung on for a few minutes, then hung up! I realised that I did not want to give my financial details to a stranger. Looks like I was right, thankfully!! Obviously a spam call! They didn't ring back!!!!

wanting a financial contribution told them i was unable to and they continued, told them again i was unable to and they continued..NOT happy. If i say i can not contribute WHY keep asking??

I dont answer unknown numbers as always this one didnt leave a msg and when i looked the number up its just another scam

Called claiming to be a charitable organisation assisting animal welfare. I think it was an automated call though because I was persistently interjecting and she never wavered in her speech or paused for me to speak. I ended the call.
