It isn't a scam, they are a charity who do a lot of great work for human rights issues in Australia and around the world. They will often have your contact details from a petition that you may have signed - either one of theirs, or a third party.

Warning - although they do legit charity calls, very little goes tovthe charitybthemselves vs service fees. You're better off supporting any charity directly rather than via these goons.

Called acouple times saying from various organizations seeking donations... scam

Unknown number to me, hung up after 2 rings

I called the number back and an automated message said if I am calling about a missed call, it could be from a charity that I have previously supported.
Blocked the number.

very pushy, tried to get me to do a monthly donation- i said i’d rather do a one time donation of the same amount that’s would’ve been across 12 months but they wouldn’t stop pushing for monthly. i just said i’d rather not donate over phone and hung up… blocked them

They do nothing good for charity they take a large admin fee for doing these awful cold calls for a number of different charities. They are a terrible business model and any charity using them needs their head read...

This caller asked for Riley someone (or someone Riley). This is the 5th time from all different numbers (snd different states) asking for this person. This time I said this is a scam and he hung up!
