These people called me persistently at all hours of the day regarding what they claimed was a Telstra debt. I called Telstra and the very helpful man said it looked as if there had been some kind of error about three years ago, and an account credit on a closed account had been misidentified as a debt and sold off to these debt collection agency people. I reiterated that I was very unhappy with the tactics of Charter Mercantile and I would not recommend talking to their people. Call whoever they claim you have the debt with and check!

Got a call from these people and was given 4 different buisness names that was supposedly a debt to but they refused to give information unless my name number birth date etc were given to them.and all 4 buisness names ive never even heard of.

I called back number (07) 3620 3901 reached IVR for a company called Charter Mercantile.

Number belongs to Charter Mercantile debt collectors. They usually work for the likes of Telstra and Optus etc.

This number would call around 6pm -never leave a message, but finally got onto them and they are Charter Mercantile - Debt Collection agency.
