Scammer - block number immediately.

Caller: agl

I just spoke with a somewhat unhelpful person at agl, asking if this number is legitimate or a scammer.
He proceeded to inform me that sales emails received on certain dates from agl for their NBN were legitimate.
When I finally got a response in relation to this number...all he was able to confirm is that yes, agl is currently running a Telemarketing campaign promoting their NBN & Mobile Phone Plan products.
He was not able to confirm anything about this number because they keep being randomly generated.
Despite my informing him that it is always the exact same number that calls at least 3-5+ times a day...he stuck with the inability to confirm due to the random generating of numbers.

Conclusion: Yes, it is actually agl running a Telemarketing campaign for the holiday season. Yes, the telemarketers are super annoying ringing way too many times a day.

My advice: If the telemarketer tactics annoy the crap out of you....by all means block them and save your sanity

Looked up the number, saw this thread, number is now blocked!

Answered this number and received a message saying "all agents are busy and will be with you shortly" then was put on hold so I hung up and checked here

I had a call from this number. Answered was left on hold. Then told it was AGL and started muttering about internet. I hung up. Saw this thread. Thanks to everyone else. I’ve blocked the number.

Caller: Claimed to be AGL

Female - sounded from Philippines. Could not understand her English. I hung up - and blocked. Suspect this is a scam call. I am already an AGL customer so why would they be calling me?

Rang back after a missed call, they identified themselves as from AGL and said they were offering a deal on internet NBN. Which is bizarre for an electricity company. Hung up. They knew I was a "former" AGL customer (though in reality I am a current one).

Caller: Scammer pretending to be AGL.

Repeated calls from (07) 3510 4918 on 04 / 01 / 2023.

Caller: AGL scam

Man speaking Philippino in a call centre, american engrish. Sounded like a scam, if it is genuinely AGL, please AGL stop using this service. Comes up as a Brisbane number but the call centre staff are chatting in philipino in the background to each other.

Caller: (07) 3510 4918

Said they were AGL, told them I was going to check if it was a spam number and hung up. contacted agl through their website, was told I have not been contacted by agl and they would raise the issue and hopefully alert other AGL customers.

Caller: “AGL”

Claimed to be from AGL trying to offer me $100 credit for signing up to NBN or a phone plan

Scammer calling me every day

I've had three hang up calls from this number today. As soon as I answer it disconnects. So I will be blocking this number based on above comments (I personally hate AGL and am only with them temporarily so I can manage the account of a family member who is with them)

Tried calling me a few times, they aren’t actually from AGL as I have contacted agl and they haven’t been trying to make contact with me. They said it’s a scam number and to just ignore it.

Will not take ‘i’m not interested for an answer’ until i had to hang up. Receive this annoying call almost everyday.

Claimed to be from ASIO

Caller: AGL Anytime

It's called me twice in the past two days. I didn't pick up again today, after reading the above comments. Rang it back and it put me in a queue with AGL Anytime. Hung up immediately. Current customer but about to leave them as they have become uncompetitive and not willing to budge.

Caller: AGL ???

Heads up they AGL? are still calling I received a call 20/03/2023 Goodness knows if they are legit very similar to the anonymous back in Dec 2022 Not interested in changing my mobile or NBN plan told her so and hung up number is now blocked

Something about nbn , couldn't understand understand the non Australian person so blocked now
