Caller: Hearing company from Queensland

Received a phone call at 6:20pm and it was from a hearing company offering free hearing tests, sounded like a scam.

It is relevant insofar as:

a) scammers try to keep their costs low;
b) a high proportion of of scammers use cheap overseas call centres; and
c) a high proportion of unidentified overseas calls are scams.

A caller with a local accent is more likely to be an Australian business which can sustain high Australian wages. That doesn't necessarily make it less annoying but it does make it less likely to be a scam. (Indeed this caller seems to be simply a business offering hearing tests.)

So, yes, it does affect the likely outcome.

Screaming "racist" at the drop of a hat might get lots of "Likes" but it demonstrates poor critical thinking skills.

what difference does her accent make? not necessary to your comment. if he/she was australian would the outcome have been different? racist.

Caller: I called the number back and they answered National Hearing

We have a silent unlisted home phone number so not sure why we receive any call in the first place.
I called the number back (after blocking caller ID) and they answered National Hearing.
Perhaps they are using an autodialler to hunt through a block of numbers, or perhaps they have old records and someone else previously had the number we have now.

They called about hearing tests
Yup
kept saying back to them can’t hear you my hearings bad and think I need a test

After about 3 times of me saying this they told me to f*ck off and hung up

Caller: Sounded like Amplifon, a hearing aid company

Did not leave a message, not sure how they got my number.

They got my number from a survey I answered
not being interested but they still rang me very annoying

Next level harassment, added them to my spam list.

told them to stop in a text reply but of course, they have annoyed me since blocking the number.

Didn't bother to pick up, I thought I'd find out who it was through reverse au, so now I will block them.

This call came in and I said, "Hello" and my voice echoed back "Hello", twice.
They are nuts.
Do not deal with nutters like this. They need medication first before they talk to you.
I could just see him or her laughing like a hyenna at their little trick. Maybe at Halloween it would be fun, but not everyday phone calls. It is disgusting and they must be stopped.
I can imagine them saying they are from a hearing company as you hear your own voice. Their little stupid sick joke.

Company called Amplifon - hearing tests. I called back after multiple daily calls for the past weel. Lady was really nice and I asked her to remove my number from their calling list

Have received three calls from this number today. Phone identified it as Potential Fraud so I didn't answer. The last call went to voicemail and the caller stayed on the line for two minutes and never said anything. I could hear the caller breathing.

Called at 830pm which I thought was suspicious then they asked if I wanted a free test so I asked where then they said closest for you would be "where I live" so when I asked how they knew that they said they pulled my data from a base which I then hung up.. sounds dodgy as

A hearing company (her name was Angela). Offered a free hearing test. I asked how she got my name & phone number...she said she didn't know...I blocked the number.
