Caller: Ebay Customer Support
I rang this number to find out who it was and why they were calling my mother on her mobile. Person with a strong accent claimed there was unusual activity on her ebay account totalling $249 - when I explained she doesn't have an Ebay account, they hang up on me.
Apparently this numbers from Ipswich, don't answer Caller: (07) 3040 1887 - ebay recorded message scam

claiming to be from e-bay (however certainly not e-bay) and left a message on voicemail saying you are to be charged for an eBay purchase for $249.99 and if this was unauthorized to call them back etc.
a total scam and interestingly others on this site have reported the same call detailing the exact same amount of money $249.99 what a coincidence
Don't waste your time with these clowns
Automated voice saying they're from eBay, and that $249.99 will be automatically debited from my card, then says to call (03) 9005 6447.
Defs a scamaroonie
Foreign voice saying they're from eBay, and that $249.99 will be automatically debited from my card, then says to press 1 to cancel order. Led me through speaker phone to install app to take control of my device. Alarm bells, hung up.
Had my mobile no but probably random.

Same story $249.99 - pushed no keys, just stayed silently on line and they hung up. I haven't used ebay in 5yrs. Beware.
I saw it was from Brisbane , I don't know any one from there , so I didn't answer . Reading all the other comments I/m pleased I didn't;t answer
today the automated call caught me when I was busy and i didn't hear everything except Ebay $299.10? purchase, so i stayed on line (push any key) and I was told that a $250 ebay gift voucher was attempted on my card, did I authorise it. No I didn't. I was told that the only way to cancel it, as someone had access to my card was to go onto speaker phone so I could listen to his instruction to download.....Go to Play Store, type in search bar, quicksupport, the option he told me wasn't there so i was instructed to read them out and he then after being told several times by me that the option wasn't there to click on quick support by team viewer and then install. I told him to email or text me the cancellation form instead as I wasn't comfortable doing that. He said no that was the only way and i told him that i was going to hang up, no no mam this is the only way if you don't want to be contacted about it again. I told him if i don't approve the transaction then fraud will get involved and hung up Caller: eBay scam
I have never been on eBay so I know it is a scam. Believe they also run a no caller id scam where they claim to be from Telstra & need to help u as someone is trying to hack yr account. If u answer they calling an hour later with something else. Best to block number
No message left on my mobile so assume scam call. Caller: Recorded male voice, not young, with some accent... said he was from ??? shop/shopping (nit clear)
"Your bank account will be charged $200 if you don't ring this number (07) 3040 1887) straight away." Straight scam... DO NOT ANSWER this number!!!
Called me twice today within a couple of hours, I did not answer as I am in Victoria, no message left, then I checked this site, block it. Caller: Scammer
Recorded message re Ebay scam.
Caller: Not sure ... maybe Ebay ???
Have had a number of these nuisance calls. They claim $249.00 has been debited to my credit card. It asks us to call back but the call diverts to +39507849885. Scam. Fraud.
The caller claimed he was from EBay and that a scam had taken place via ebay from China for the value of $249 from memory.
He explained steps on how to set up my phone security so this wouldn't happen again. I got to a stage where a password was given via my android.
He has received the password which now makes me very nervous.
As soon as I entered authorised I listened to my gut and tried to get out of it.. I then hung up on him and the poorly spoken indian accent tried calling me back another 2 times.
I have later called back & of course no ring tone.
Definately a scam :(
