WRONG WRONG WRONG ume. Lion Finance NEVER asks you to confirm details - they ask you to give them details. I agree with other people - don't give details to anyone over the phone, even if they do say where they are from - you don't have proof of who they are. They could be a scammer.

Plus Lion are deadest bottom dwelling pricks. Never answer and to hell with them.

Lion Finance is a debt collection agency. They are legit but they need to go through ID questions to ensure they're speaking with the right person so as not to breach your privacy and release the details to just anyone.
HOWEVER, as she was making an outbound call (ie they called you), they would normally ask you to confirm ID details they have on file rather than request this information from you, which happens when you call them. Hope this helps.

Sounded like a scam. Hung up & dialled back to ask who they were. Lion Finance. Blocked the number. Recommend getting a DECT home phone system that allows you to block numbers. Reduced our scam calls from several a week, down to once every few months.

A woman with a foreign accent asked to speak to a relative of mine who passed away a couple of years back, but refused to tell me who she was or where she was calling from. When I continually refused to give her any information she finally gave me this phone number and a reference number.

Got a call from this number today. The guy (Indian or Philipino) ID's me by name and address. He then tells me he's trying to contact my neighbour (quotes address across the street). Asks me if I will go across the road and give them a message.
I asked who they are and he tells me he's been trying to contact them bit can't tell me why because it's a private matter.
I asked how he got my number and he says "it's publically listed".
He persists in trying to get me to be his messenger boy.
I finish the call telling him I'm not getting involved and that he's got their address and should write to them if he wants to make contact.
    With that, I hung up.

If a debt collection company calls you they cannont disclose where they are calling form unless speaking with other people bound by the same NPP (national privacy principles act) such as HR/PAYROLL departments. The reason they ID first before revealing the company name is because imagine how you would feel if a company rang lloking for you and your mum answers and they state "company name " if it was a debt colection company and your mum recognises the name or google's it then, won't you feel embarrased or annoyed or even angry that your personal matter is now not personal and open toy our mums or anoyne elses judgement? TIP if companies ring asking for your details to ID just say if you want to confirm my details then you must have them what year was i born...... then you can proceed to confirm the rest. This will remove the chance for you revealing information to scammers and legit companies being able to ID you

I got a call from this number yesterday and an accented woman asked for me, I said yes, she then wanted my birth date or address to confirm I was me. I asked who she was and she wouldn't tell me, she said I had to confirm my details so she could talk about a 'personal matter'. I hung up. I then looked at the caller ID and rang the number, she answered Lion Finance and asked me if I had a reference number. I hung up.
