Rang after business hours and asked if they could speak to a registered voter, I said no and hung up. Number is now blocked.

Sir, you are fully wrong.
Government bodies, registered charities, educational institutions, market researchers, and registered political parties are ALL EXEMPT.

They asked me about using public transport in Victoria and about my age, so I thought it might be a scam and I hung up the phone.
