Supposedly origin energy. Called to say I still owe but I've paid. I called origin. I don't owe anything. Looks like scam. Origin said they would email .

Spam

My parent received a text msg from this number saying it was Origin Energy and a reminder that the bill was due with a link to pay. They do have an account with Origin so it very nearly tricked them. This is a very credible looking msg so take care.

It's a scam

Called pretending to offer cheaper rates. I pretended to be busy and told to call back later. I have blocked the number immediately and they already rang me 4 times within 3 hours. IGNORE

SCAM - SMS from 'Origin Energy' to remind me to pay my account with direct link to pay from SMS. I don't have an account with Origin. Reported & Blocked.

06 December 2024 - Wow, these scammers are ruthless and know too many details about me - "Hi N***, Origin here. We're getting in touch to confirm your electricity account at ## Burrum [information deleted] is due to close on 13th Dec 2024. This is happening because we've received a request from another customer to move into the property. If you are not moving out, please give us a call on 13 24 61 with your meter number handy."

Received the below SMS from this number. It is a scam because my name is not Paul and I have never had an account with Origin. I deleted the full address.

Hi Paul, Origin here. We're confirming your electricity account for U 1,65B NSW will be closed on 22nd Nov 2024. If this isn't right, or you didn't request this, please give us a call on 13 24 61. Thanks, Origin.

Fake Origin message regarding bill reminder. blocked and deleted

Scam message they are getting smarter have changed their message, looks official but longer, so you might think you nerd to open as you cant see the full message, my advice dont open or klik on anything.
Message Hi (had my first name) and"just a heads up that we will be ringing you in.....
Lokks very official and creates a sense of urgency because you can't see the rest of the message. Dont open though.Why cant the Telco reverse bomb these crooks and blow their systems up.

fake Origin payment scammer

I’ve just moved to a new place, and got this message pretending to be from origin energy even though I’ve signed up with an entirely different energy provider. Below was the message.
“Hi, it's Origin here. Just a reminder to pay the $485.91 (incl GST) that's now overdue for your electricity account (A-37A64BBF). Head to originenergy.com.au/pay?accountNumber=A-37A64BBF&amount=48591 or give us a call on 13 24 61. Already paid? Please ignore.”
