spam caller about interned speed

got a missed call from this number, didn't leave any message, didn't pick up for return call. maybe this number used for a scam call as usual.

Caller: Didn't identify self, just said 'I am from Telstra'

Call received on 15 February 2024 from 0488 878 931. Suspected spam or phish caller, this it how it goes:

On pick up no immediate voice, I said 'hello' paused, 'hello', and hesitant (broken up) female voice in foreign accent, sounded Indian.
'Im calling from Telstra about your internet'.
"I don't believe you' I said.
'Let me explain, I am calling from Telstra...'
'You don't sound like an operator from Telstra, I don't believe you, this is a spam call' I replied.
''I'm calling from Telstra, let me verify myself...'
'No I don't need you to verify yourself, you must think I am an idiot, goodbye' and hang up.

Had several robocalls during the week, where there is silence waiting for you to say something on pick up. This same number was one of them on 8 February (one week earlier), I said 'hello' and the line went dead.
Caller didn't call back, clearly did not know my name or address me as such on pick up to verify who I am, and I am damned if I will.

Why doesn't Telstra block these calls. And I am a silent unlisted number.

Scam caller spoke with foreign accent phishing for personal details

Sounded like a call center. Said he was from the Commonwealth Bank. That is as far as he got, before I hung up. Not with the CBA.

Claimed to be from NBN. Could hardly understand what he was saying but rang on (03) 4334 1879 which we hung up from and then called back on 0488 878 921. Sounded very dodgy

Pretending to be NBN Co offering to up grade copper to fibre. Hung up when told I'm on satellite 🤣

Recorded message with no identification with some babble about PayPal and two gift cards totally hundreds of dollars. Obvious scam so hung up.

Answered call by mistake - recorded voice stated they were from PayPal. I hung up and blocked number. Another scammer.

Spam. Called for a bank transfer internationally.
