I received a text message from "Bupa" saying I would have a chance to win $1000 if I told them about my recent healthcare visit. I rang Bupa, who confirmed they do use Whitecoat, who I subsequently googled, but that this text is definitely a scam. Whatever you do, don't try and opt out by contacting the above number; at best you'll suddenly start being charged every month for a premium service and at worst, who knows???? This scam is similar to current ones going around from Coles and Woolworths where scammers pretend to be from these legitimate organisations. Be really careful peeps, even if you regularly use or deal with these organisations. Fk me dead I'm sick of these scammer a**holes!

Mine said HBF. The link (whitecoat.co) is an insecure web address that is a copy of whitecoat.com.au

i got a text just now saying it’s Nib. it’s so weird because i literally just used my health cover 3 days ago at the dentist and then i got this text. it was suspect because of the spelling and i get a lot of scam emails at work and so can pick these out easily. this is so scary to think how these scammers are able to try trick people.... don’t click on these links and don’t fall for this bs

I got similar message from Bupa winning $1,000 which I ignored and recently got another one offering $5,000 mentioned Whitecoat.

I can't tell who actually sent this sms. It says BUPA but there is no number attached. All legit sms messages have a number in the View Details part of the sms. It looks like a scam. Bupa would never send an sms message like this. I can't figure out why the spammers would send this to me.

I suspect this is a scam on HBF Health Insurance customers.
