Got billed for an SMS to this number and it is a scam. Never sent an SMS and Optus reversed the charge once I rang the scam number on speaker phone while talking to Optus and it went to a disconnected number.

I am on Amaysim (whose carrier is also Optus) and also got billed for an SMS to 0488 863 468. Could it be related to the recent Optus hack?

I was charged for SMS sent to this number 0488 863 468. I never did send SMS to this number. Phantom SMS I guess.

Same as above, got billed on premium MMS

What's a lesson and learned to switch on the function of barring premium calls / SMS / MMS

Optus system should be smart enough to determine that a text wasn't sent from one of their numbers. The Telstra system knows that one of their customers did not send a text from that number why can't Optus instead of wasting everyone's time having to ring them up and get it reversed. It's Ok if you are on a free call text plan but I am on a zero dollar plan for this "second" phone so I get billed for any calls or SMS.

This number was sent an SMS from my data service (Optus) unknown who or why it was sent.

I got a bill that my phone sent an SMS to this number, but I've never heard of it, nor can i find any evidence of that SMS in my phone logs.
