Some of you guys are rediculous! It is the RSPCA. It is NOT a scam! They don't call random people. Either yourself or someone else has provided your number for them to send you a FREE copy of their Animal First Aid booklet. They ask for your address to send the book, and ask if you would LIKE to make a donation. It makes no difference whether you donate or not, you still receive the book. When you requested the call, the fine print says they will call during office hours.....

I agree with Carlton North. If its important enough for them to ring, then they should leave a message. I too ignore numbers I dont recognise.

rspca was confirming a request for literature I had requested.
This was not a spam even though they were hoping for a donation.

I never asked anyone from the RSPCA to call me. I don't even have animals, and no, I never gave them my number. So I am not sure what you're on about.

Calling on behalf of RSPCA. Driving me nuts because they never leave a message and they always seem to call when I'm at work and can't answer. I would love to just call them back and sort it out and instead I've had them continuously calling me for 4 weeks now. I spoke to them twice, both bad times because I didn't have my wallet accessible. They also said they'd send out this book but like I said it's been 4 weeks so I'm guessing they don't send it unless you pay even though it's advertised as 'free'.
I have donated directly to the RSPCA instead. BTW guys it's not the RSPCA, its a company representing them and if you donate money to them then they collect some of it. Which is okay but just be aware. You can also donate to the RSPCA.

this is the rspca people. a non-for-profit charity. if you contact them asking for a free book don't be surprised when they ask for a donation. it's a worthy cause.

Only rings for about 3 rings and stops. That's not long enough for me to even get my phone out of my pocket. Very annoying.

Caller: Call centre on behalf of Charities

Yes it’s a call centre - one that fulfills a role that Charities just can’t do - especially at the same cost efficiencies. I’ve been looking at this for some time and have found that Charities don’t ask unless there is a need and unfortunately, as generous as Australian’s are, less than 10% (more like 5%) is raised without an ask. I personally give as much as I can. But I can’t and don’t do it every time I’m asked or called - it’s our choice. Add the number to your contact list and you’ll know when they call. Pick it up when you want to - either help them out, tell them not this time or ask them to remove your number. Bottom line is Australia needs Charities and Charities need Australians. Intel on the call centre using this number is that they won’t call on just anyone’s behalf - it’s legit and needed.

If you ordered a free copy of pet first aid booklet they are calling for an address to send the booklet to.

I registered around 5 years ago for the 'free' first aid book, but it wasn't fee and that means I basically gave them permission to phone me randomly and ask for donations. I will not do that ever again.

Why would you have "fun" with a charity that cares for neglected and abused animals? Not to mention they are the only group legislated to prosecute offenders and get next to no funding from the government AND rely on donations to keep doing their important work.

Wish they'd piss off.

The RSPCA are liars who provide misleading information, which was proven incorrect. Liars.
