Caller: Superannuation being 'cancelled' by government

Spam - taking advantage of super law changes from earlier in the year.

The person claimed to be from a company calling on behalf of other super fund companies. According to her spiel the government was cancelling superfunds as of 'tomorrow'. They then wanted to ask me 3 specific questions. The first of which was if I was aged between 21 and 58. I stopped her right there and advised her I'd contact my superfund directly.

They were probably trying to rip people off using the 'Inactive low-balance super accounts' law that the government brought into affect earlier in the year. Check the ATO website if you have super and don't know what I'm talking about.

I find it is harassment and extremely annoying

This number rang me seconds after I hung up on 0488 851 764 and did not leave a message. Very suspicious.

I called back the number 0488 851 401 but the call didn't go through
