Caller: Supposedly the Federal Govt

After been ask if she was speaking to me, I was told she was calling from the federal government. I replied with I don’t want nothing to do with the government, to which she asked if I was a home owner. I replied that I don’t have to tell you that and then hung up.

Part of a series of numbers that has called non-stop all afternoon and evening. This one called at 4.30pm and they immediately follow with a diff number. This number was used again at 8.45pm. It's like whackamole, block numbers and they keep using different scam numbers.

Male called and said something about federal rebate so I hung up. He called back angrily saying "why did you hang up? You've got a $3000 rebate for the home you own. That's f*cking stupid" I said I don't own a home anymore. He jibbered on with something and hung up 🤣

Caller: claims to be government

Asked why i haven't applied for the solar energy rebate and lied about how they got my number. I have had the number for 3 weeks, don't use it for anything other than family and friends and is not the one listed with any agency, corporation or body. It is listed on the do - not - call register and clearly that doesn't do a thing. When asked, he got abusive and hung up.

I had previously blocked the number but it still appeared on my phone (3 days later). However, my iPhone put a warning on my screen that reads 'WARNING:SUSPICIOUS CALLING PATTERN". I am grateful for that but really don't want the number getting through at all. If it's blocked, it should be permanent!!!

They used my online alias name instead of my legal name, so they've obviously collected people's personal information online

didnt answer. i called the number back on wifes phone and it says the number is disconnected.

They called, claimed to be from an electrical provider in Bowen Hills, Brisbane. Same initial conversation as other posts regarding taking advantage of federal government solar incentives. I advised that I wasn't interested and hung up. He immediately called back, demanding to know why I hung up. Then he spoke over the top of me, threatening that I would not stop receiving calls until I told them if I was a home owner or renter. I let them know they had no right to any such information. He then finished in with "well looks like you are going to keep getting lots of calls from us, haha", and he hung up.

Don't answer calls you don't recognise. You could get locked out of your own phone like I did! The screen was moving but I was locked out. I couldn't even turn my phone off!
If it was someone legitimate then they will contact you another way!

Claimed to be an enery company trying to "help" home owner get federal goverment electricity rebate.
Asked them where they got my full name (actaully my preferred name). Said from somewhere.
Told them I am renting then been hang up straight away.
