Ipsos ? Australian govt travel survey

Caller: Ipsos Research (allegedly!)

Message says "This is Ipsos (ABN 52 070 101 352). In the coming days we will call to see if you can take part in an important study on behalf of a government agency."

The ABN checked out on the governments ABR website, and was shown to have a previous identity as Eureka Strategic Research PTY LTD. Ipsos also have a detailed website showing landline numbers for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, but you won't find the mobile number 0485 886 281.

The message received did not have an opt out link for the impending call from them, but I would not have responded anyway since the mobile number could not be confirmed as genuine and it could have been spoofed. Assuming that if this message is genuine I can now expect a call from Ipsos. Do I want to receive it ?.... No !!!

All I can do is block this mobile number and all four landline numbers associated with the company in the hope that it does the trick, but I suspect they will use another unidentifiable number which I will ignore unless they catch me off guard.... then add that number to the block list too.

Government Survey about Travel, can't reply back but reported as spam

They actually helpfully sent a text message a few days prior to say they would be ringing to see if I would take part in a government survey. Turned out to be about travel.

Rings then hangs up before answering

Sent a sms 3 weeks prior to say that they will be calling about an important government survey. Rang on Saturday afternoon, but didn’t leave a message. Will report as spam after seeing other comments here.

Have literally called me 4 times since 3rd Feb, no voicemail left.

Climed trying to conduct government survey on travel. Older sounding female voice. Was concerned I didnt receive SMS to advise she was ringing.
Smells like a very professional scam.
