They sent me this message. Hi mum ive lost my phone. Can you whatsapp me heres my new number 0485 839 592 x, it is urgent please. My sons don't use whatsapp

My mother got a text message pretending to be me, but there where so many red flags, like not responding to calls and messaging on WhatsApp. The person knew all the details about my mum and me. It is odd as they referred three different numbers. This phone number has been referred to the police

Got the same message this is a scam don't get into this!!

I had the same message that my kid had broken their phone and could not call out but could use Whats App - they wanted about $3,400 and for me to pay them whilst they were with Telstra - definately a scam

I nearly ended up $2 grand poorer. Thank god for my bank. Thought I was talking to my daughter .

It's now one I know. I'd say scam
