Caller: This is a very good scam They contact you via whatsapp pretending to be a family member. They know the relationship and other details. Trying to extort money. Caught them out by asking a personal question only my daughter would know. Managed to get the transaction cancelled before it had left my account.

Caller: 0485 836 273 Exactly the same scenario as above. Didn't seem right so I asked for a video call. Conversation stopped with an abrupt "So ur not going to help me?" After which I asked where she was? No answer. Daughter was overseas. Wondered if she was hacked via facebook??? Bank details were for a commbank bsb a/c using: Psuedo name Jack Schoemaker BSB 062 948 A/c 3203 6547 $4563.18 Claiming it was for an Afterpay payment..and she (daughter) didnt want to get charged payment increase. Tried to report to Commbank but "fraud department" is not contactable on weekends. Now that's helpful!
