Asked to speak to the owner of the business, I asked what it was in reference to and he said something about golden oldies and police. I explained none of the directors were available and he said he was going into a meeting and hoped he'd get someone beforehand and that he'd call back tomorrow. I googled his number because he sounded so dodgy I nearly said 'is this a prank!'. Looks like he's been busy!

Came from 'Anonymous' number to my work. I only found this post by googling his name. Said his name was Mick Lawson and wanted to speak to the Principal partner or Manager. When I enquired he said he was from the NSW Police Golden oldies. Seemed shonky to me I said there was no one here until next week. He said he'd call back. I may have some fun with him next week!

Had his phone number on anonymous. Said he was Mick Lawson on behalf of the Police Golden Oldies. Told him our boss was busy and we could return his call.
He immediately said he was going into a meeting and he would call back. Appears that is what he says every time.

Mighty Mick Lawson was at it again, older bloke gravelly voice same same & the old Aussie slang.
Called looking for donations saying on behalf of injured police officers.

Caller: Private number

A man called asking to speak to the boss. Said he was from The Golden Oldies Police or something like that. I said the boss wasn't here and he asked for his contact number so I said the boss was overseas. He asked when he would be back and I said 5 weeks, he said ok, I''ll ring back then. I've received a dodgy call in the past about the Police Golden Oldies so I was suspicious straight away, and it just sounded 'dodgy'. I've dealt with several charities and none of them sound like this call. Funnily enough, just 5 minutes later my phone rings again and it's a private number, I answered and was hung up upon immediately. I think he'd forgotten he'd already tried my number before! I wish these people would just go and get a job and earn an honest living like the rest of us!

I had a similar call from a no caller ID number but he said his name was Max. The cause is legitimate but not sure Max has anything to do with it????? I declined his generous offer.

Called our office claiming he’s from the Australian Police, asking for the managing director. I said they aren’t in atm and I made a mistake of giving the information that they will back in the office around 3pm. He said he will call back then. It sounded suss so a quick google search revealed that similar complaints have been made. Will be reporting to the local police.

Just another low scammer. His deep policeman style voice and dinky di Aussie accent is a real game winner...for a loser.
I'm so over these scammers.

Call from Mick Lawson wanting to speak to Principal about Federal Police Golden Oldies, when said our Principal was in a meeting he said he was also about to go into a meeting so would call back tomorrow morning.

I advised he was in a meeting and offered to leave a message.
He said he was just about to go into a meeting? He said he will call back later.
Didn't give any information, sus guy...

He wanted an $880 or $440 donation for a police officers charity. Sounded suspicious.
Said he would send me an email with the details, never received it. Had a gravelly old male sounding voice.

Mick asked to speak to the principal, I asked for Mick's best contact information as he was not available at the time and he didn't want to give it to me. Little did he know, his phone number was displayed. He got scared and hung up claiming he is going into a meeting and will call back
