Claimed it’s from ANZ — Fake, scam message

The text message says:
From ANZ: Hi [Your Name]
We’ve noticed unusual activity on your card ending [correct last 4 digits of the credit card]. For your security, we’ve temporarily blocked your card and declined this transaction: $.00 to ANTONIOS PIZZA - GREEN - UNIONTOWN OH on 16-Sep. Please confirm if this was you.
Reply 1 if YES or 2 if NO

Sit there from ANZ had the last four numbers of my card correct. There are two transactions that have come out of my account today that I didn't do. They have claimed that they have temporarily put a hold on the card due to a suspicious activity. The company the money was to was some shopping proprietary limited frankston. I don't know whether to trust this message or not. I'm just going to ring ANZ.

I received a text similar to the other people reporting a SMS from this number. Contacted ANZ and they confirmed the message was sent by them i.e. this is not spam. This is a legitimate message from ANZ.

This is legit. I went onto the app chat service to confirm the transaction and they told me to respond with the correct prompt and the block was lifted

Looks like a scam text but it is genuine, from ANZ for suspicious card activity.
I called them from the ANZ app, confirmed the transaction was not authorised & blocked my card.

Identical to the one on Sept 15 2025 quoted. Did not see it for a week - was suspicious and on holiday so did nothing. Card works normally,and I can't find any evidence of attempts to take the cash, about $286, or the claimant said to be a subscription.

I was a victim of corpo data leaked. They got my name right but everything is completely wrong. lol. Nothing match. I NEVER save or stored card numbers on website.

There’s a comment below saying the phone number is genuine. IT IS NOT.

I knew it was fake but I showed to the teller anyways. He laughs. I just want to alert the bank this number.

I came here and thought it's a scam, however went to the ANZ app and also called them and this is a legit number and SMS from ANZ Falcon

I can confirm the intital and follow up sms message saying it was important I respond yes or no to whether I tried to make a purchase are legitimate messages from ANZ. I was concerned about a possible scam so I contacted ANZ via their app and once I confirmed I had not attempted to make a purchase and no-one would have had access to my card, they confirmed they had blocked my card and would dispatch a replacement card, as someone had attempted to make a purchase online using my card number. ANZ provided via their chat on their app a contact number for their Fraud & Scams First Responders of 1800 960 086 and said they will send out a fraud pack as well as dispatching a replacement card.

I see people saying this is spam, it’s actually not it’s genuinely ANZ contacting you about a suspicious charge.

Caller: ANZ

SMS asking for you to reply yes or no to suspicious activity when making an online transaction. Have had many of these over the years from ANZ and it is legitimate. Does not ask for personal details and doesn't respond after you've texted back 1(yes) or 2 (no).
If you do reply "2" then ANZ will block all debit transactions and call you straight away.

Caller: Text saying an attempt made to take &1.85

Says it’s from ANZ- has correctly put the last 4 digits of your credit card in. 3rd message then says they have blocked your account to protect you, and asks you to press “ yes” or “no” if it was you

Don't trust it says it's from ANZ (Suspension of Bank Activity and we temporarily blocked your account Reply Yes or No if it was you.)
