Caller: Tom from the Australian Investor

Same as previous reporter. I received a text message saying "Hi ______, Tom here from The Australian Investor. Our partners have term deposits rates available from 7.2% - 12.5%, with terms from 3-36 months. Interested in receiving details? let me know ASAP!"

I responded with a yes I'm interested then further communications saying 'Thanks for that, _____. Investments start from $50k, does that align with your budget?
I then said 'Yes and need more info now about company, how, where invested, security etc, you know the deal.

Result: <SILENCE>

Pretty sure they are trying to assess if target (me) is worth pursuing.

Yep got the same scam text message today

"I'm keeping this super simple: Is this something you want to pursue?" Out of the blue. Scam.

No idea who that is and as far as I'm aware, I didn't sign up for any investment company
