Caller: Someone purporting to be "NAB Direct Deposit" and giving email address as "no-reply32 @ cbacrsecurity.com". I received an email containing a multi-pointed red star logo and a slogan "more than money" and the following spurious "information":
"Monthly instalment processed "Your scheduled monthly instalment has been processed and applied to your account. Here's a summary of the payment.
"Date processed 25 June 2026 "Instalment amount $760.00 AUD "Loan reference NB-2MZN8 "Next instalment due 25 July 2026 "Your next payment will be processed automatically on the due date. No action is needed from your end. "If you have any questions about this payment or need to adjust your schedule, our team is available to help." "Speak to an advisor - 0483 753 267"
I have no account with NAB, so I don't know what the scammer hoped to achieve - just a shot in the dark on the off-chance that I did have a NAB account??
About the purported "Loan reference" number - I did a full search on my computer and came up with no hit whatsoever.
