Another Hi-Mum text message about accidentally dropped phone down the loo requesting I save this number.

This is a 'Hi Mum I accidentally dropped my mobile phone in the loo, it's damaged so I'm using an old one, please save this number.'
Further msgs explain putting phone into rice etc and could I help with paying an old debt, paying me back in 2 days once he has access to bank account etc.
I have two sons and thought it was one of them, but the amount requested to pay for the debt was ~$4,800. I questioned this amount and googled the deposit bank account name. Lo and behold, the name was the same as a person with a life sentence! Co-incidence? Alarm bells and fortunately did not transfer any funds. Sounded genuine as it wasn't the normal international non English speaking scammer!!

Said Hi-Mum I accidentally dropped my mobile-phone down the loo and needed to pay bills today. The amount stated was way more than my son would owe.
I started to get suspicious! Asked a few questions and last question hasn’t been answered.
I believe it to be a scam!!
