Received a text message from this unknown number, saying

This is a scam.

I received a text spam message from this number.

Caller: 0481 608 104

Hi mum/dad this is my new number x you can save this ❤️😘 total scam I don’t have children

Caller: Hi mum scammer

Got sent this thought it was my only daughter asking for money but wasnt watch out

Txt message: Hi mum/dad this is my new number x you can save this

I ended up with this text too. Joke’s on them, I don’t have kids. Better luck in the next life Scummy Scammers.

Caller: Txt msg scammer

Same as above posters. I did not reply nor call the number as I feel they can hack into your phone to access apps, contacts etc. Reported to scamwatcher.com and blocked the number instantly.

In the coming weeks I almost guarantee we will see news stories about this.

Same scam as mentioned above (pretending to be my child). What gives them away 1. Generic, no names used and addresses both Mum and Dad to cover their bases. 2. Telling recipient to save the number is an odd remark. 3. Bit too much love thrown in for a quick text, hugs AND blowing kisses 😂

Received message: Hi Mum this is my new number x you can save this with smiley face. New it was a scam so wrote back: Oh great I was going to ring you as I need to borrow $1000. Drop it off to me tomorrow.
Did not hear back from them. Then blocked and deleted.

I got a text message also this morning... saying the same... I thought it was my daughter as she just started a new job. I called her other phone to confirm and lucky I did.... so they are still trying hard to scam us..

Same message as others have received - pretending to be our child with a new phone number needing to make an overdue payment but unable to access mobile phone banking. Rang my wife and she hadnt received the text and the alarm bells went off, luckily I had responded Id call him later. When I did call it said they were experiencing service difficulties.....a new low for these pricks

An absolute scam. Asking for money to pay bills, pretending to be children of the person who receives the text.

Got a sms from this number, saying: “Hi mum/dad it’s me, this is my new number You can save this😘”
I do not have any children. This is a scam.

text today saying:

This also just happened to me...wt??

spam:(. asking me to save this number as new contact number - pretending the text from my child.
