Caller: Energy Aust

Received Fri 17/03/23 at 9:08am. A legitimate call from Energy Aust, just giving a reminder that the bill is due soon. Even though the details are correct there's no way I would click on any link in an SMS. It would have been useful if I had actually forgotten the bill was due but since I still insist on a paper bill, which I can see on my desk every day until it's paid, this reminder wasn't necessary.

Received a text about energy Australia bill. I don't have an account with them.

A message from energy Australia. They told me my bill was overdue, true. Account details, all true. However I didn't have the funds so I tried to call the number that sent the message. My phone said this number doesn't exist. This is potential fraud.

Got a text 12/2/2024 about a bill with energy Australia. Not with Energy Australia.

Caller: 0481 075 208

It was supposedly from Energy Australia reminding me of bill to be paid.
My electricity account details were correct however the among owing was not. The bill had already been paid with acknowledgement within my Energy Australia app.
This seems really suspicious. Have never received a text reminder before let alone a text reminder for a bill already paid.

Scammer trying to get you to cluck on the link and put your hard earned money into their account.
Please screen shot the message and report it to scamwatch. The more evidence they have, the more chance these people will be investigated and prosecuted.
